Accurately described as a "cunning junior duo", the Thunderkittens are small in size and still maturing, yet still serve a vital role in the ThunderCat ranks. Inseparable despite their competitive natures, both WilyKat and WilyKit are impatient to grow up and take their place amongst the adult ThunderCats. Inquisitive and impetuous, the Thunderkittens have been known to stir up their fair share of problems for the others to deal with, but with their good consciences and brave spirits they can always be relied upon to do the right thing in the end.

Exodus

The Thunderkittens, Wily Kit and Wily Kat, were among the Thundercat Nobles leaving the dying planet of Thundera. Wily Kat bickered with Panthro before being silenced by Jaga, although Wily Kat contended that 'Jaga's always right'. The Thunderkittens were given new clothing and weapons by Jaga, which would help them to adapt in their new home, their weapons included a selection of trick pellets which had a variety of uses and could be used to escape an enemy in battle, and a lasso. The Thunderkittens left with the other Thundercats when the Mutants arrived and fought them back using their new weapons. When Jaga commanded the Thunderctas to get into the suspension capsules, Wilykat forced Wilykit into one, after which she tearfully bid farewell to Jaga.

After the ship crashed on Third Earth, the Thunderkittens helped to fight back the Mutants once again, surprised to see how much Lion-O had changed.

The Unholy Alliance

The Thunderkittens helped Panthro search through the wreckage of the crashed ship for parts, Wilykat finding the food supplies, which had survived the crash.

The Slaves of Castle Plundarr

The Thunderkittens were running through the trees when they came across Monkian, they were able to outwit him, but the agile Mutant proved more than a match for them within the trees.

The Tower of Traps

Wily Kit and Wily Kat helped a Wollo who was being robbed, pursuing the robbers after they stole a gold bracelet from the Wollo, they arrived at the mysterious Tower of Traps, after which Wily Kat was captured. Wilykit journeyed with Lion-O to the top of the tower, avoiding many traps on the way, before rescuing Wilykat and fighting some monstrous Gargoyles.

Lion-O's Annointment Trials: Trial of Cunning

When the time came for the third day of Lion-O's annointment Trials, it was time for the Trial of Cunning. As the most cunning and crafty of the Thundercats, it was Wilykit and Wilykat's duty to try Lion-O in cunning. The Thunderkittens set many traps for Lion-O within the maze of infinity, but Lion-O was able to avoid them all, while also having to battle the attacking Mutants. In the end, the Thunderkittens were caught in one of their own traps which backfired, and Lion-O rescued them with the help of the native creatures before they all ran to the exit of the cave. The Thunderkittens tried to beat Lion-O to the exit, but he had tied their ankles down, and he was able to beat them out, making it through the trial of cunning.

Mongor

The Thunderkittens accidentally freed the evil fear demon known as Mongor, upon discovering that the Kittens had done this, the other Thundercats became very angry, and the Kittens ran away. Meanwhile, Mongor was able to hunt down the Thundercats one by one, Wily Kit and Wily Kat found that the way to defeat Mongor was to look not look at him, and they quickly told Lion-O, who was then able to defeat Mongor.

The Thunderkittens came across a buried magical golden harp, which had a genie trapped within it, after releasing the genie, it proclaimed the Thunderkittens its new masters. But the evil Mumm-Ra also desired the power of the genie, and he soon turned it against its young masters, trapping the kittens and Lion-O in the centre of Third Earth. They were eventually able to escape when the genie turned against Mumm-Ra.

Trouble with Thunderkittens

With only Lion-O left in the Cats Lair, the Thunderkittens were tired of being treated like children and decided to steal the other Thundercats weapons to prove they could fight just as well as the adults. While playing with the weapons out in the woods, the Thunderkittens were attacked by the Mutants, and soon realised they couldn't defeat them all, they fled, but left the weapons behind. Not wishing to incurr the other Thundercats wrath, the Kittens tried to steal the weapons back from Castle Plundarr, but were unable to. Eventually they told Lion-O what had happened, and although he was dissappointed, he went with the Thunderkittens to get the weapons back. While Lion-O fought the Mutants, the Kittens searched for the weapons, but were unable to find them, they soon realised that the Mutants had the weapons on them, and after defeating them they got back the weapons, replacing them in the weapons chamber before the others returned.
