The third company to splash on to the stage with a ThunderCats statue / staction license was Icon Heroes. This was a new start up company, helmed by the President of Action Figures Xpress (shopafx.com) and came in to take the 4-8 inch sector of the market. This was seen as an empty niche given that Hard Heroes was doing 14 inch statues and Pop Culture Shock was doing 30 inch statues.
The Icon Hero line was of a size that they can be easily displayed with your vintage ThunderCats collection and their offerings suited the more budget conscious fans who prefer smaller scale collectibles. Note that the Mini Mates figures are considered toys and so they’re covered in that part of the site.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to see as many Hard Hero figures as we would have liked. They produced a Lion-O and Mumm-Ra (two versions each) and then broke into the extremely cool sculpted vehicles and environments world, which is really the highlight of the line.
