you got it buddy!
Nice going, Zax! When I saw the screencap the background looked like Castle Plun-Darr to me. So I was thinking along the lines of "Divide and Conquer". Clearly, I was way off! LOL!
Cats Lair to Zaxfactor, we await your signal ;-)
My apologies! Here's a new one:
That's from "The Circus Train"! :D
Yep! Great job, Daremonger. Your turn
Can you guys guess what this next screenshot is from?
"Queen of 8 legs"?
For sure. Your turn.
Thanks! Here's the new one.
"Secret of the Ice King"
Yup, that's it. Your turn, BB!
How about this one?
Isn't BB's picture still in play? I can't think of the episode, but the image is awesome!
Also, that's a image of Panthro is a cel with a non matching background, so it's not really suitable for this quiz.
Sorry, didn’t mean to jump past BB, and yep that’s an animation cel but I didn’t realize those weren’t suitable. Are you saying the background wasn’t used with the cel in the show? I think you can teach me a couple things here (in PM if you prefer to keep the thread focused on the game).
My apologies, BB!
I could be wrong, but that cel sold recently and it was listed, (as most are), "with copy background". The chances of it being a matching background are slim. I have several cels, one with a original painted background, but even that one is not matched to the cel. I only have one cel with a matching copy and that was because I found a person online with a laser copy background that I needed, and they were kind enough to send me a scan. There is a cel of Panthro on eBay now from the same sequence as the one you posted and background is completely different.
Anyhow, sorry for the slight detour, but I thought worth clarifying here, might be of some interest to others.
Definitely of interest to me! Do these cels have any real value or just a nice addition to a collection?
Yeah, these cels are one of a kind pieces of animation history. Thundercats cels have a tendency to be on the more expensive side compared to some 80's cartoons. Have a look ebay, there have been some really nice ones sold on there lately, even from the intro sequence, which you don't see a lot.
Interesting, I wonder if these can be graded or authenticated. Thanks for this info, I never fail to learn something new in this forum, wish i’d found it years ago!
