Good luck, my friend.
Just to keep track of this thing, I share the comparison I've done tonight.
Not complete, lacks some features I tried before. Maybe I'll go for the original format, not putting too much shade in it.
I think Tygra is better on color corrected. What do you think?
Both frames are not aligned because the prior source was in different position. Gotta change all the frames to follow the corrected one, no escape.
I'm going with the version of Tygra below.
Ok, I shouldn't be sharing WIP so often like this.
But yesterday night I was so pissed about the work I could finish and it was not compelling enough that I was almost giving up the whole thing.
Takes that have too many elements, backgrounds, effects, characters and camera movements I spend too much time drawing stuff and makes me tired easily.
Well, after this I decided to share the small bit on Traditional Animation group on facebook, it's a public one and people there gives a lot of feedback, other than that, some pro folks like Aaron Blaise is there on daily basis. To my surprise, that meh take gave me some boost to keep up and continue rotoscoping the take 5 which is giving me some headaches.
But anyway, I diverge here. Again, thank you so much for sharing your hard work piece @Booshman. I'm super confident right now.
That WIP animation of Cheetara is super-dope, man!
What are your thoughts about discrepancies found on the intro so far?
I mean, I know there're a lot of mutants and all, but still they're basically Slithe, Jackalman, Monkian and Vultureman, other than some variations on clothes I guess.
So far I've found lots of "mistakes" concerning anatomy on mutants mostly.
I'm taking the original characters concept to make 'em right, even if we see only a glimpse of them while watching the final result.
Slithe ears in the following close up is completely wrong also.
For me, I wouldn't change a thing, but then I also wouldn't adjust the aspect ratio either. For what it's worth the changes you have made look solid, nice work on Monkian's feet.
Just thiccin' through to let you know that Ceetara rules.
Are you adding a highlight to every black line? It's not present in the original and to me it makes it look off. It gives the effect that the colour layer and and the outline layer are slightly misaligned.
I'll probably do the traditional one and a take 2 after.
No need to get mad about that, since it is the painting layer the additional shading scheme.
Not mad pal, just an observation. Looks like more work to make something which I'd say is objectively less appealing to look at.
Your work is most impressive! I know this takes ages but it is magnificent. Can't wait to see your full creation.
Thank you for your words.
Folks here really help each other out.
I was reading two posts from the thundercast this week.
Don't know who manage the page, but mentioned he/she was once a tc.org user.
Also it seems Booshman and his work are well known and praised on internet.
As the year comes into an end, I less and less able to resume my job of redrawing the stuff. I make shadowboxes/paper dioramas as a hobby/means to get some extra money too.
So this month I'm super busy.
If retro games kinda are of interest for you folks, look for #rgbcrafts on social media and you might end up finding my stuff.
Thundercats art would be awesome in a 3D picture frame like this, but I didn't have an idea to put into practice yet.
I diverge, it was just to say I'm still on it, although not in the pace I would like to be right now.
PS.: A sculpture friend of mine decided start Cheetara figure, as well as the others from the crew starting this week. He needed some references and his sources were low quality at best. The good thing is, the parts I already redrawn was what he needed to start modeling. I was very happy to help somehow and to learn he will make the other guys from the crew.
His name is Heleno Lyra (https://www.instagram.com/p/B1Of2aIj_Km/) and he owns the Eight Arts Studio: https://www.instagram.com/p/BuY_nWOF7Tm/
Hope you like it. Ok, I'm outta here.
Thanks for this post. I like his Lion-O statue. Take as much time as you need to recharge your batteries for your ThunderCats intro recreation.
Would like to ask for recommendation from fans.
What scene/poster/art would you like would be fantastic to build a shadowbox/paper diorama like this one?
I finished it tonight and am so stoked to make another theme like this.
That's a pretty cool X-Men diorama. I would most love for you to do a ThunderCats shadowbox/diorama using this legendary Ed McGuinness piece:
