From beyond any known galaxy, bringing with them the laws and ideals of their doomed planet, come the THUNDERCATS. These brave and courageous super-heroes carry with them the powerful Sword of Omens which contains the source of power for all the THUNDERCATS.

The Tower Of Traps: Lion-O and the THUNDERCATS have to overcome some of the most awesome obstacle’s in order to rescue Wilcat from the evil Baron Karnor’s Tower of Traps.

The Garden of Delights: The devil priest Mumm-Rahypnotises Tygra in his quest to steal the Sword of Omens… With Tygra in his power, he may just succeed.

 

 

Notes:
  • Although this VHS was released under the Lollipop label, it is still a Video Collection release, since Lollipop was a subsidary of VCI!
  • It is not mentioned on the cover that this is volume 1, however the tapes label does state this fact.
  • This is the second time these episodes were released on VHS video. They were originally released in 1987 by Hollywood Nites.
  • The cover on this release re-uses the same cover art from the ‘Exodus” release! The intro tag line of “From beyond any known galaxy……” is also re-used on this release.
  • Wilykat is spelt wrong on the synopsis for “The Tower of Traps”. The ‘s’ is also missing from “Delights” on the front cover.
  • There is no mention of this particular release on the BBFC website. I can only assume that as these episodes had been passed for release in 1987, they did not need to be re-submitted again.

 

 

The Slaves Of Castle Plun-Darr / The Doomgaze

THE SLAVES OF CASTLE PLUN-DARR –
The ThunderTank is given a trial run as the ThunderCats attempt to liberate the Brutemen from the Mutants who are using them to build the evil and terrible Caste of Plun-Darr.

THE DOOMGAZE –
Mumm-Ra joins orces with Egyptian Princess Ta-She to capture the Doomgaze, an entrancing power which can enslave the ThunderCats and mean their end. Is there no peace for the ThunderCats, forever being drawn into battle to rid the world of evil?

 

 

Notes:
  • Although this VHS was released under the Lollipop label, it is still a Video Collection release, since Lollipop was a subsidary of VCI!
  • It is not mentioned on the cover that this is volume 2, however it was the 2nd and final ThunderCats VHS release from Lollipop (Lollipop always tended to release 2 volumes from each of their licensed properties)
  • This video marks the fouth time the episode “The Slaves Of Castle Plun-Darr has appeared on a VHS release! (It was also the second outing for “The Doomgaze”!)
  • There is no mention of this particular release on the BBFC website. I can only assume that as these episodes had been passed for release in 1987, they did not need to be re-submitted again.
