Dan Norton, the series Art Director at Warner Bros on ThunderCats (2011 Series) maintains a pretty awesome deviantart.com gallery. On it he’s posted concept art for the characters we got to see, and some for those that were never seen but were drawn up in anticipation of season 2. It’s well worth checking out, some really beautiful ideas in there.

I would love to see a season 2. Unfortunately, I know we will never get that. What are the chances of having the story finished in comic / graphic novel form?

That's actually a great question and I hope that somebody is smart enough to do what you suggested. The main barrier I see to this is the one we've consistently heard from anybody who has sought the license to sell ThunderCats products: that WB charges too much to make licensing profitable for them.
I do know that the team who worked on season 1 had done some work on season 2 already so perhaps they had an ending put together. That's a question I can ask, so hopefully I'll have some news on that front.
