ThunderCats Encyclopedia - Character Overview header

The hereditary Lord of the ThunderCats, Lion-O is the son of Claudus, the ruler of Thundera. Lion-O’s mother died shortly after giving birth to him, and his father Claudus was killed near the start of the series, thrusting Lion-O into the throne of Thundera. Lion-O and his adopted brother Tygra have a strong and long standing rivalry and they both develop feelings for Cheetara. Lion-O can be quick to anger, and is impulsive and headstrong, but also possesses great moral values, and will immediately jump to the aid of anybody who he thinks is being treated unfairly. He has a fascination with technology that his father considers unhealthy. Lion-O is fierce defender of freedom and a brave and noble leader.
