About the Author

David Crichton

Writer · longstanding friend of thundercats.org

David Crichton spent years tracking down and interviewing the people who actually made ThunderCats: producers, writers, character designers, animators, voice cast, composers, toy sculptors, recording engineers and production staff. The result is the first single-volume production history of the series. Published by Telos in 2011, it remains the canonical written reference to the original Rankin/Bass run, the SilverHawks sister series, and the toy line that made LJN a household name.

When he announced the book in 2011 we ran the first look on this site, and four months later Nick Mills sat David down for a long-form interview on ThunderCast Episode 10. Both pieces are linked below.
