Lion-O leads off Wave 1 of Funko's Savage World line, a Masters of the Universe style take on the original 1985 ThunderCats cast. He comes armed with the Sword of Omens and his signature Claw Shield.
Funko announced Savage World at New York Toy Fair in February 2018, pairing the ThunderCats with Conan and a run of horror mashups in the same 5.5 inch, five points of articulation format popularised by Mattel’s MOTU Origins-style retro figures. Lion-O headlined Wave 1 alongside Panthro, Mumm-Ra and Slithe, released that October in a full colour blister card with a painted character portrait and the Savage World logo across the top. He carries his sculpted Sword of Omens as a separate accessory alongside the Claw Shield.
