Lion-O early sculpt surfaced during Mezco’s Mega Scale development run. The pose carries the Sword of Omens at full extension with the claw shield mounted on the forearm, both lifted directly from the 1985 cartoon design.
About this prototype
A rough sculpt and test shot from Mezco’s Mega Scale ThunderCats development run, surfaced ahead of the production line. The 14-inch Mega Scale Lion-O later shipped in 2011 with a refined sculpt and paint pass. Mezco has historically surfaced these workbench pieces at convention floors as previews of what’s coming. Detail pages preserved here as a record of the pre-production process.
