Lunatak of Plun-Darr
Tug-Mug
Gravity, a carbine, and a figure on pre-order at last
Tug-Mug is the Lunatak who controls gravity, through a Gravity Carbine that lets him leap great distances and leave his enemies floating. He was never produced as a toy in the original Ljn line, but finally joins the Super7 ULTIMATES! line for pre-order in October 2026.
On Screen
The gap in the shelf
Five Lunataks have figures. The sixth is on pre-order.
Anybody assembling the Lunataks from the Super7 line will be happy to finally complete the team. Luna and Amok came as a two-figure Wave 11 release, Red-Eye arrived in Wave 14, Alluro in Wave 8 and Chilla in Wave 9; five of the six are done, and have been for a while. Our toy records show no figure of Tug-Mug from LJN or anyone since, until Super7 put a cartoon ULTIMATES! figure on pre-order at Big Bad Toy Store in October 2026, at $64.99 with an estimated arrival of December.
On screen he is the faction's heavy artillery in the most literal sense: he does not hit people, he changes what gravity is doing to them, leaving them floating and useless. He neutralizes an opponent without a fight, which suits a faction that would rather manipulate than brawl.
Six of six, on paper. Every Lunatak now has a figure, or a pre-order for one.

"They call me TugMug, and I am a Lunatak from the moons of Plun-Darr." An introduction delivered seconds after he has already snapped the Sword of Omens in half.

Questions
Tug-Mug questions, answered
Who is Tug-Mug?
One of the six Lunataks of Plun-Darr. He manipulates the gravity around his enemies, leaving them floating helplessly, and covers great distances himself by leaping from his rolling tripod legs. He is one of the most powerful of the group, even managing to break the Sword of Omens!
What is the Gravity Carbine?
His weapon, and the source of his power. His abilities are greatly reduced if he is separated from it, which is a pattern the Lunataks share: Alluro has the same problem with the Psyche Club.
Is there a Tug-Mug figure?
Not in the shops yet, but one is on pre-order! Big Bad Toy Store lists a cartoon-color Super7 ULTIMATES! Tug-Mug at $64.99 with an estimated arrival of December 2026, subject to change (our Tug-Mug figure page). Every other Lunatak was already produced by Super7: Luna and Amok as a two-figure Wave 11 release, Red-Eye in Wave 14, Alluro in Wave 8 and Chilla in Wave 9. Tug-Mug was the gap.
Why did it take until now to make Tug-Mug?
A prototype was produced by Ljn for the original line of ThunderCats toys, but it was never brought into production. We can only speculate that the timing of the ending of season two and Ljn's moving away from toy production contributed to the canceling of the Tug-Mug and the rest of the Lunataks. You can find images of the original Ljn prototype in the Hall of Omens Thunder-Verse book by Sean McKeone.
Who voiced Tug-Mug?
Larry Kenney, who also voiced Lion-O and Jackalman on the same series.
Who wrote Mumm-Ra Lives! Part I, where Tug-Mug is freed?
Leonard Starr wrote the episode that frees all six Lunataks from the lava at the start of season two.
What are Tug-Mug's strengths and weaknesses?
Mastery of gravity and the ability to leap great distances, with those powers greatly reduced if he is separated from his Gravity Carbine.
Is Tug-Mug one of the Lunataks who fights directly?
Yes, alongside Red-Eye and Chilla, he is one of the faction's combat-focused members rather than one who manipulates or commands.
How does Tug-Mug's gravity power work in a fight?
He can leap great distances and deprive enemies of gravity, leaving them floating helplessly in midair rather than striking them directly.
