About This Figure
Mezco's 2016 SDCC exclusive variant of the Mega Scale Tygra. Same nine-point sculpt as the standard 2016 release, this time molded in translucent blue plastic with glow-in-the-dark eyes and chest symbol, the figure captured "in mid-phase," that split second before he goes invisible. Show-floor exclusive non-numbered limited edition.
Mezco’s 2016 SDCC exclusive variant of the Mega Scale Tygra, the “Phasing” edition.
Same nine-point sculpt as the standard 2016 release. The variant is molded entirely in translucent blue plastic, with glow-in-the-dark eyes and chest insignia, capturing Tygra in mid-phase, that split second before he becomes invisible. From the SDCC press copy: “in darkness of the jungle (or the living room) Tygra’s eyes and chest symbol glow with fierce intensity as if to proclaim ‘before this day is over, you will face your greatest fear!’” Ships with the same Bolo Whip accessory as the standard release.
Sold first on the SDCC 2016 show floor (BBTS, EE, and Mezco Direct each got an allocation post-show). Non-numbered limited edition. The standard 2016 Tygra and the Phasing variant are usually sold as a matched pair on the secondary market, and the Phasing version trends $130-$220 sealed.
This was Mezco’s last Mega Scale ThunderCats variant. After 2017’s Lion-O Deluxe Edition and Mumm-Ra GITD reissue (both reusing existing sculpts), the line went dormant.
