Mezco Puts ThunderCats in Plastic: a 5 Points Set Turns Up at SDCC 2026, With a One:12 Collective Line Still to Come

San Diego Comic-Con 2026 opened its doors this weekend, and on the show floor was something classic ThunderCats collectors have been waiting on since February: physical ThunderCats figures, on a shelf, in hand. The reveal card teased at Toy Fair earlier this year finally has plastic behind it.

What is on display is a 5 Points ThunderCats set, the stylized, mini-figure format Mezco has used for lines like Universal Monsters, TMNT, and Popeye. And the lineup is a proper starter roster.

What is on the SDCC shelf

Per Mezco, the first wave gathers the core of Third Earth: Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, Mummy Mumm-Ra, and Ma-Mutt. On the stand at Comic-Con the display went one better, with the towering blue Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living posed alongside the heroes.

Marked simply “ThunderCats Set” under the 5 Points banner, with a “Coming Soon” card. Treat exact contents, packaging, price, and release window as not-yet-confirmed for now. This was shown as a display piece at Comic-Con, and Mezco has not published the full spec sheet or opened pre-orders. When it goes up, we will have the buy links.

The One:12 Collective line is the bigger promise

The 5 Points set is not the whole story. Back on February 15, 2026, as part of its Toy Fair reveal run, Mezco dropped a single teaser: the ThunderCats logo glowing on a red field, stamped “One:12 Collective,” under the heading “ThunderCats Are On The Loose.” No figures, no names, just a statement of intent.

For anyone new to it, the One:12 Collective is Mezco’s premium line: roughly 1:12 scale figures with real tailored cloth costumes, deep articulation, swappable heads and hands, and a spread of accessories. It is the tier Mezco reserves for its heavy hitters, from Batman to the TMNT. Pointing it at Lion-O and company is a big deal, and it means the ThunderCats are getting the collector-grade treatment, not just a novelty. Details, characters, and pricing are still to come.

Mezco and ThunderCats have history

This is not Mezco’s first trip to Third Earth. Fifteen years ago the company held the ThunderCats license and built one of the most memorable pieces in the whole toy canon: the Mega Scale line.

14-inch Lion-O (2011). A big, chunky statue-figure with seven points of articulation, the Sword of Omens, and the Claw Shield. Frozen mid-roar, it was the largest classic Lion-O most fans had ever owned.
The SDCC 2011 exclusive. A Comic-Con variant added an alternate head with glow-in-the-dark eyes, the kind of Eye of Thundera flourish the convention crowd eats up.

14-inch Mumm-Ra (2012). The Ever-Living followed, same Mega Scale treatment, with a glow-in-the-dark SDCC 2012 deluxe two-pack rounding the run out.

For a long stretch, before Bandai’s Classics and long before Super7’s ULTIMATES, those Mega Scale pieces were the definitive big-format classic ThunderCats. A lot of collections still lead with them.

Why this matters

Two things stand out. First, Mezco is coming back to ThunderCats at two very different price points: the affordable, stylized 5 Points set for people who just want the gang on a shelf, and the premium One:12 Collective for collectors who want cloth capes and thirty-plus points of articulation. That is a smart, wide net.

Second, the timing. ThunderCats is having a moment. Super7’s ULTIMATES keeps rolling (the same Comic-Con just gave us the all-new 14-inch Astral Moat Monster), the classic line is deep in our own toy archive, and the property is squarely back in the spotlight. Mezco planting a flag with both a budget line and a flagship line says the license is worth serious tooling money again.

We will update this post the moment Mezco confirms the 5 Points contents or opens One:12 pre-orders. Until then, if you want the Mezco ThunderCats that already exist, the 2011 to 2012 Mega Scale Lion-O and Mumm-Ra turn up regularly on the secondary market.
