Peter Newman, the Voice of Tygra, Signs at NYCC for the First Time on Thursday

Peter Newman, the voice of Tygra, is signing at New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 8 from 3 to 7 PM at booth 2044, and he is on a panel in Room 406.2 at 8 PM that night.

Our Instagram announcement of September 28 gives those details and says it is his first time signing at NYCC. It does not name the panel or say who else is on it, and it points fans to @icftr for updates. We have not been able to read the official NYCC schedule, so we cannot say how the panel is listed there.

Who he is

Newman voiced Tygra in the 1985 series, along with WilyKat, Bengali and Monkian, and by our count twenty-five characters across ThunderCats and SilverHawks. In SilverHawks he is Quicksilver, the field leader of the team. Our voice cast page has the full list, and he is one of three actors who worked across all three Rankin/Bass shows.

Fans have met him at conventions before, including Retro Con in 2022 and a GalaxyCon cast Q&A with Larry Kenney and Lynne Lipton. If you cannot get to the Javits Center, our Peter Newman audio interview was recorded in 2008 and is still the best long conversation with him we host.

The rest of the weekend is on the NYCC 2026 hub, including Mezco at booth 1253, the Super7 panel and the Mumm-Ra signing at table J03.
